The Council's mission is to promote land use that sustains the farms, forests, open spaces and cultural heritage of the Shenandoah Valley region of Virginia. Major programs include acquisition and stewardship of conservation easements; promotion of other land conservation tools through the education of landowners, officials and the general public; and projects that support the economic and ecological vitality of the region.
