Mission
Founded in 1923, the Wednesday Music Club offers its members and guests monthly musical programs throughout our club season presented by members, many of whom are professional musicians or accomplished amateurs, and by other professional musicians from the Charlottesville area. In addition to monthly programs, the club provides performance opportunities for student musicians of all ages. We sponsor annual recitals series for both young musicians and adult students. For our members, the club fosters participation in small performing groups from within our membership. The club further supports, encourages, and rewards young musicians through music camp scholarships and cash prizes awarded via professionally judged annual competitions, and significant financial assistance through need-based tuition scholarships for music lessons.
