Writers in Schools, a literary outreach program, is committed to developing the next generation of readers and writers. The program brings writers into the public and public charter schools of Washington, D.C. (grades 3-12). We give the students copies of the books for them to read and discuss with the authors. We conducted over 225 author visits, coordinated several book clubs for students. To facilitate literary discussions and prepare for the author's visit, we provide curriculum materials to the teachers.
