About this organization
About
Beth Sholom, a Conservative-affiliated egalitarian congregation, has served the Frederick community for more than 100 years. We offer numerous educational and worship opportunities, social and cultural events, and community-oriented activities for members of all ages. We encourage our congregants to take advantage of the many avenues of participation we offer. Beth Sholom’s educational offerings include Beth Sholom Early Childhood Center for two- to four-year-olds, religious education for children ages five through 16, and a variety of courses for adults taught by Rabbi Hersh, Cantor Shulie and Rabbi Tzvi Tuchman from Baltimore. Shabbat services are held each Friday evening and Saturday morning, and Tot Shabbat and religious school-led Friday evening services are held monthly. Weekday minyanim are held every Thursday morning. Youth group advisers plan monthly cultural and social events for children of all ages, and the adult programming committee organizes monthly social, cultural and educational activities for adults. Beth Sholom members are committed to Tikkun Olam, or repairing the world. Throughout the year congregants engage in service activities that help those in need in the local Frederick community and beyond. We welcome all to learn, worship, celebrate and get involved! We look forward to getting to know you.
