1. Food Bank distributions to area residents is the primary focus of the Thurmont Ministerium. Current year distributions included literally tons of donated food/items valued at $107,500. These donations were from individuals, churches, grocery stores scouts and numerous other organizations. In addition, distributions were made of directly purchased groceries valued at over $68,500 from monetary or gift card donations. Prior years' Food Bank distributions to area residents included estimated donated values of $81,379, $118,368, and $108,104, as well as donations purchased from monetary donations.2. Medical emergency or catastrophic medical expenses for community members, including pharmacy, doctor, dentist, and hospital bills.
