Mission

To help more than 200 children and adults with developmental disabilities and autism achieve their greatest potential. Benedictine provides educational, vocational and job support programs that assist people in living and working as fully as possible in the community. The Benedictine School's educational program for children ages five to 21 with multiple disabilities provides functional academics and cognitive, social, fine motor, gross motor, and other skills training. Benedictine has garnered national recognition for its success in helping children with developmental disabilities achieve increased mobility, communication and quality of life. Benedictine's Adult Open Community Program addresses the needs of individuals with multiple intellectual and developmental disabilities in 24-hour residential settings as well as personal supports, employment training, placement and coaching. The Open Community Residential Program provides residential support for 68 adults, ages 21 or older in 18 group homes located in Annapolis, Easton, Denton, Henderson, and Ridgely. Our focus in the Open Community Program is to assist the individuals we serve in becoming productive and active members of their communities.
