About this organization
Mission
The mission of the Cheney Depot Society is to acquire, move, restore, preserve, maintain, protect, and manage the 1929 Depot, guided by the Secretary of the interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. Once restored to a useable state, the Society will administer and manage the building, promoting a contemporary use which respects the quality construction and craftsmanship that was held by the original builders. To the greatest extent possible, the interior finishes, furnishings and landscaping should express the building’s 1929 character and heritage. An appropriate commercial tenant will be sought to provide a self-sustaining, active, adaptive re-use in this historic building.
