The NextStep Pilates program includes a series of ten free one-on-one sessions with trained Pilates instructors followed by a careful assessment and additional one-on-one or group training on the mat as needed. Lessons are taught at studio body Logic studios in Alexandria and Arlington and designed to address individual veteran needs and challenges.Narrative of the accomplishments - SBL has created a Pilates program that works one-on-one and also provides small group Pilates training for recovering veterans in the Washington metro area.Designed by Joseph Pilates specifically to rehabilitate the war wounded, Pilates has been shown to increase the core endurance necessary to restore comfortable, confident movement. Employed are highly trained and qualified authentic Pilates instructors with the skills and training to help veterans return to everyday life.Since the program launched in 2014 SBL has worked with 30 active and retired military men and women.
