About this organization
Mission
The mission of Man Up and Go is to spark a passion in men to fight for the fatherless. Since it is generally men who have created the fatherless problem in the world, it is men who must fix it. Man Up and Go recruits men to serve the world's most vulnerable populations - orphans and foster children - through education, service, training, and mentorship, while simultaneously teaching and modeling to these men what servant leadership looks like.
About
Since 2011 Man Up and Go has sent 38 teams totaling 485 short-term missionaries from the US to do humanitarian and mission work in various countries in Africa, Central America, and the Caribbean. In 2018, Man Up and Go engaged over 4000 children on these trips and 1300 women on these trips. Additionally, they grew monthly child sponsorships from 18 to 52, purchased over 600 fair trade items from women enrolled in vocational training programs, and launched a year- long Authentic Masculinity Program to three different cohorts enrolling over 60 men in Uganda. They distributed over 150,000 meals in schools and feeding programs. They are seeing lives change through education and food security for these children, women supporting their children by paying school fees and caring for the family through vocational training, and men accepting responsibility as the provider for their home and family. They also conducted 6 U.S. outreaches reaching over 450 people designed to increase awareness of the domestic fatherless problem and drive recruitment for foster parents, adoptive parents, or wrap around services.
