Funding the Future's Mission is teaching financial literacy to every student in America! We engage them with a live concert, inspire with the musicians' personal stories, and encourage with a spirited Q&A. They learn how to harness money as a tool to succeed, achieve dreams and change lives. Funding the Future has taught over 130,000 students in 26 states, D.C. and Canada and earned the 2018 Innovation Award from the Jump$tart Coalition on Personal Financial Literacy. FUNDING THE FUTURE'S 2017 NATIONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY TOUR REACHED 87 SCHOOLS AND MORE THAN 35,000 STUDENTS IN TENNESSEE, NEBRASKA, IOWA, WYOMING, COLORADO, INDIANA, MICHIGAN, NEW YORK, GEORGIA, NORTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, KENTUCKY, FLORIDA, KANSAS, OHIO AND NORTH DAKOTA. STUDENTS IN 18 STATES HEARD THE VITAL MESSAGE ON PERSONAL FINANCE AND RECEIVED ONLINE RESOURCES TO CONTINUE LEARNING IMPORTANT LESSONS PERTAINING TO GOAL SETTING, BUDGETING, USING CREDIT WISELY AND EVEN CAREER PLANNING. WE GREW THE NUMBER OF SCHOOLS REACHED BY 28%, DELIVERING OUR PROGRAM AT 87 SCHOOLS AS COMPARED TO 68 SCHOOLS IN 2016. LIKEWISE, FUNDING THE FUTURE SAW AN INCREASE IN THE NUMBERS OF STUDENTS REACHED IN 2017 TOTALING 35,101 COMPARED TO 25,000 IN 2016, AN INCREASE OF 40%. FUNDING THE FUTURE WAS HONORED TO EARN THE STATUS OF A UNITED WAY PARTNER AGENCY THROUGH SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS IN WYOMING SCHOOLS. FUNDING THE FUTURE AND BAND GOODING WERE ALSO FEATURED AT THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION'S ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN BROOKLYN, NY. THERE, THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE TO CONNECT WITH OVER 400 TEACHERS FROM ACROSS THE U.S., PERFORM FOR THE CONFERENCE ATTENDEES AND CONDUCT A WORKSHOP PRESENTATION WITH ITS PARTNERS FROM THE NEBRASKA COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION AND THE MICHIGAN COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION.INTERNALLY, THE BOARD BROUGHT ON A FULL TIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IN Q3 2017 TO SPEARHEAD SCALABILITY OF THE MISSION BY BRINGING ON ADDITIONAL BANDS AND CREATING THEIR FINANCIAL LITERACY PRESENTATIONS TO OFFER SCHOOLS IN 2018, ESTABLISH KEY PARTNERSHIPS AND SPONSORSHIPS, AND ASSESS AND OPTIMIZE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES. IN NOVEMBER, FUNDING THE FUTURE PERFORMED AT THE NATIONAL EDUCATORS' CONFERENCE HOSTED BY JUMP START COALITION ON PERSONAL FINANCIAL LITERACY IN WASHINGTON, D.C. CONNECTING US WITH KEY DECISION MAKERS FOR SCHOOLS AND SPONSORS. WE WELCOMED NEW BOARD MEMBERS WHO ADDED DIVERSITY AND EXPERTISE AND BROUGHT ON ADDITIONAL STAFF. 2017 PROVED TO BE A YEAR OF NATIONAL EXPOSURE FOR FUNDING THE FUTURE. FOR THE 2017 SPRING AND FALL TOUR, WE IMPLEMENTED A NATIONAL MARKETING STRATEGY. AS A RESULT, THE NATIONAL PLACEMENTS WERE SECURED ON STACKING BENJAMINS, A NATIONAL PODCAST, ALONG WITH NPR'S ALL THINGS CONSIDERED. WE WERE INTERVIEWED BY NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO'S ALL THINGS CONSIDERED DURING A SCHOOL PERFORMANCE ABOUT THE NONPROFIT'S FINANCIAL LITERACY MISSION TO HELP STUDENTS LEARN CRITICAL FINANCIAL AND LIFE SUCCESS SKILLS. ADDITIONALLY, LOCAL TOUR COVERAGE WAS SYNDICATED BY THE ASSOCIATED PRESS LANDING PLACEMENTS ACROSS THE U.S. OUR MEDIA EFFORTS RESULTED IN 38 SYNDICATED AP COVERAGE RESULTS AND 105 MEDIA PLACEMENTS. OUR MEDIA SPONSOR MENTIONS INCREASED TO 68% UP FROM 26% IN 2016. WE RECEIVED 77 PRINT/ONLINE PLACEMENTS, 21 TELEVISION PLACEMENTS AND 6 RADIO PLACEMENTS, ALL UP FROM THE YEAR PRIOR.THE CONSISTENTLY POSITIVE RESPONSES FROM TEACHERS AND STUDENTS CONTINUE TO PROVE THAT FUNDING THE FUTURE'S MESSAGE RESONATES WITH THE SUCCESS OF OUR DELIVERY MODEL.
