Pioneer Farms is a living history museum that accurately preserves and portrays the lifestyles on the blackland prairie of central Texas during the 19th century, featuring fully restored homesites that depict life from the 1840s to the 1890s with costumed interpreters, demonstrations and period-appropriate livestock and gardens. Each site highlights the diverse lifestyles and cultures that were present in central Texas back then. The museum also offers classes and educational workshops in a variety of traditional trades and pioneering skills as well as educational programming for school groups and scout organizations. Additionally, the museum offers community-service opportunities that support our educational initiatives and is a venue for special activities and events.
