Mission

Upstate Warrior Solution (UWS) is a community-based nonprofit that is committed to promoting wellness in the upstate South Carolina warrior community. Our mission is to connect warriors and their families to the resources they need, and guide them through the process of developing realistic solutions as they face the challenges of successful integration into civil society.

About

An estimated 100,000 warriors are living in the upstate of South Carolina. Upstate Warrior Solution's (UWS) mission, working in partnership with our community, is to offer warriors and their family members supportive services for employment, education, housing, healthcare, family services, outdoor recreation, and more. UWS has connected with 6,706 warriors since its inception, and 1,117 of those were in 2019. Through case coordination with a dedicated team of warrior advocates, UWS managed over 2,015 individual cases, achieving a successful outcome rate of 87%. Growing our newly developed partnerships and programs (in 2019) such as the UWS outdoor recreation program, the family services program, Operation Prisma Warrior, Operation Deep Dive, and the justice involved veteran program have allowed UWS to work collectively toward solutions that impact our community, our local warriors and their families. A UWS warrior defined is anyone who has served, or is still serving in the U.S. armed forces.
