The organization's mission is to unite the construction industry in giving back to the community. The organization assists non profit organizations in need of construction services and sustainability projects.
About
In 2013/2014 architects, engineers, and construction contractors have volunteered time, materials and expertise to totally renovate the kitchen facility at the US Vets Center at Midtown Terrace in downtown Houston Texas. The US Vets facility currently houses over 500 veterans in a refurbished hotel. Houston Construction Industry Charities completely renovated the kitchen from the original hotel, which was not functional. The kitchen is now complete and is used to serve the residents of the facility freshly prepared hot meals on a daily basis. In 2014-2018 the organization hosts a fundraising event and accepts contributions to sustain the monthly cost of the kitchen. The organization also provided a van to transport the US Vets to doctors appointments and other functions. The vision moving forward within the next two to three years is to secure a new property location and construct a new facility in the Houston area to house and provide meals, therapy and back to work programs for local veterans in need.
