Trained and certified 17 service dogs for military and first responders in 2018. ------- NSSD offered service dog training sessions to approximately 60 military in a navy treatment program for severe PTSD and to another 80 military in a VA treatment program for severe PTSD. NSSD also trained veterans to be service dog trainers and seeks to hire them, giving them new purpose. -------- The NSSD training center space is facility space donated by membrane development specialist (MDS), valued at $24,000. -------Next Step Service Dogs has received non-cash donations from many sources. Guide Dogs of America has donated 9 dogs that were partially trained as guide dogs. Many donors donated dog food, dog supplies, office supplies, and covered office expenses so that Next Step Service Dogs could focus on their mission of providing dogs to servicemen with PTSD.
