About

The organization is constantly looking for creative and practical ways to meet the needs of our community. Some projects address immediate concerns people are facing. Others are geared toward sustaining, uniting and maintaining healthy relationships between schools, neighbors, families, institutions and civil servants. The positive results from our work lead to new and exciting opportunities to strengthen our community. Including, but not limited to, (1)assisting schools, educators and their community based partners to connect and improve relationships with students and their families; (2)organizing small and large events bringing hope and encouragement to families; (3)working with single parent families, living in shelters and the working poor who are struggling to make ends meet;(4) MBK food pantry provides free fresh produce and nutritious food items for families; (5) provide spiritual support for families and educators in the community; (6) we educate and address issues that negatively impact our community through workshops and forums for youth and adults; (7) MBK Open Gym Night provides a safe space in our community where young people gather to enjoy playing basketball and one another's company. We also fully sponsor special annual events and activities for youth and families such as day trips, camp and retreats to broaden their experiences beyond the boundaries of the community in which they live. We are a 100% volunteer staffed organization. We are unable to achieve our mission without the help of our volunteers.
