Basis Washington DC served 599 demographically diverse middle and high school students during the 2017-2018 school year. The Basis curriculum is an internationally benchmarked academic program. The curriculum is designed to empower students to establish a deep foundation of disciplinary knowledge to fuel critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Basis Washington DC meets state academic standards and goes beyond at educating students at an internationally competitive level. A star framework was initiated to all public schools using multiple type of data to measure a school's performance in academic achievement, academic growth, English language proficiency, graduation rate and school environment. In SY 2017-2018 star rating found Basis Washington DC an overall score of 88.4% with a high school star framework of 99.32%. Graduation rate is at 100%, with a 100% SAT college ready benchmark compared to 20% in DC.
