2018 CONTINUED TO BE A PRODUCTIVE AND GROWING TIME FOR KIRABO SEEDS CHILDREN'S HOME IN KAMPALA UGANDA. AS OUR 17 CHILDREN GROW AND MATURE, THE NEEDS, COMPLEXITY, AND CHALLENGES FOR THIS MINISTRY CHANGE AND EVOLVE. OUR STAFF OF 7 REMAINED STABLE AND CONTINUED TO DEVELOP AS A MINISTRY TEAM. THESE COMMITTED ADULTS SERVE, CARE FOR, AND OVERSEE ALL THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS. THEY ARE THE BACKBONE AND ARE CRITICAL TO OUR MISSION. KIRABO SEEDS IS FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING A FAMILY HOME ATMOSPHERE WITH A DEEP FOCUS ON SPIRITUAL FORMATION, EDUCATION EXCELLENCE, EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND GOOD CITIZENSHIP. U.S. FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND RESOURCES ARE PROVIDED TO DELIVER THESE PRIORITIES. KIRABO SEEDS IS MAKING A LONG TERM INVESTMENT TO SEE OUR GOALS MANIFESTED IN THE LIVES OF 17 CHILDREN.SOME ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND KEY ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR:- JIM AND VICKI KING TRAVELED TO UGANDA IN JANUARY TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND COACHING TO THE STAFF AND ASSESS SEVERAL KEY EDUCATIONAL AND CHILDREN'S CARE DECISIONS- TONYA AND CRAIG LATORRE, ERICA AND DOUG WEAVER, AND JIM AND VICKI KING TEAMED TO TRAVEL TO UGANDA IN AUGUST- A REGULAR BI-MONTHLY CONFERENCE CALL WAS CREATED TO CONNECT OUR UGANDAN AND US LEADERSHIP TEAMS- IMPROVEMENT IN FINANCIAL PLANNING AND BUDGETING LEAD BY ERICA- BETTER VISIBILITY INTO FUTURE CHILDREN'S AND FACILITY NEEDS THROUGH A NEW FORECASTING PROCESS- FOCUSED ON IMPROVING OUR STAFF PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT PROCESS- THE UGANDAN GOVERNMENT'S PUSH TO RESETTLE CHILDREN WAS EASED THROUGH BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL LEADERS AND CHANGE IN OUR STATUS WAS HALTED- DEVELOPED RELATIONSHIP WITH OASIS, ANOTHER CHILDREN'S HOME CLOSE TO KIRABO SEEDS- MET WITH A FEW OTHER UGANDAN ORGANIZATIONS FOR PARTNERSHIP, FELLOWSHIP, AND ACCOUNTABILITY- MOST CHILDREN CONTINUED TO IMPROVE IN THEIR EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT- CHILDREN'S COUNSELING AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT WAS PROVIDED- ADDRESSED THE HEALTH OF SEVERAL CHILDREN WHO BECAME SICK DURING THE YEAR- STABLE STAFF, NO TURNOVER, STRENGTHENING TEAM- MISSION EVALUATION AND STRATEGY REVIEW AS BASIS FOR LONG TERM MISSION PLAN
