About
Research: The foundation supports biomedical and clinical translational research to enhance patient safety, elevate the standards of care, improve quality of life, make breakthroughs in treatment/recovery and win the fight against devastating diseases. These discoveries will change healthcare regionally, nationally and internationally. We disburse research funding primarily to physicians and researchers affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Siteman Cancer Center and/or Washington University, or to faculty of Barnes-Jewish Goldfarb School of Nursing. Although we fund a variety of healthcare areas per donor wishes, a majority of our research funding is for projects in cancer, palliative care, the neurosciences (stroke, brain tumor, and epilepsy), and organ transplant.
