- Iged & iged jr: introduce a girl to engineering day. these annual events introduce middle and high school girls to careers in stem fields through hands-on activities, a keynote speaker, industry fair, college and discipline fair, and interactions with stem professionals. the purpose is for young women to get a taste of what an engineer is and what they do. 300 girls and 100 professionals participate annually. Expenses $0.
- Outreach activities: girls ignite events held throughout the kansas city metro introduce middle school girls to engineering concepts through hands on activities about each discipline. the sweetie pi reception is reception for high school girls engaged in first robotics in the kansas city metro. it gives them the opportunity to network and interact with other students as well as engineering professionals. girls in gear is a community outreach event to introduce girls aged 5-13 to engineering fields through hands-on activities. Expenses $0.
- Professional development and member events: annual swe fellows reception, speaker events, annual picnic, kansas city join stem organization event, monthly member networking opportunities. we also assist swe section officers with registration and travel to society conferences and leadership events.
