About this organization
Mission
Stages St. Louis is committed to preserving and advancing the art form of musical theatre through excellence in performance and education. The mission of the Stages Performing Arts Academy is to inspire passion, creativity, and curiosity in students of all ages.
About
Program 1 - Musical Theatre Productions in 2019, Stages St. Louis produced Broadway-quality musical theatre, presenting 135 performances from June through October to nearly 50,000 patrons at its mainstage and family theatre series (FTS) productions. The Stages annual FTS production is an additional production to the regular three mainstage shows. It is a regional treasure that encourages multiple generations to attend professional, live musical theatre together as a family. The 2019 season productions were Disney's 101 Dalmatians, Grease, Man of La Mancha, and The Boy from Oz. Each year since 2015, Stages has presented a sensory-friendly performance of its FTS show. This performance provides, to those on the autism spectrum and with other sensitivity conditions, an accessible, friendly experience of musical theatre without judgement. In 2019, this was done at a performance of 101 Dalmatians.
