Mission

The mission of the San Antonio River Foundation is to enhance the San Antonio River Basin as a vibrant cultural, educational, ecological, and recreational experience.

About

The foundation has joined a public/private partnership to renovate and amend the San Antonio River watershed to create one of the longest linear parks in the nation. Currently, 15 miles are reaching their completion. As part of this effort, the foundation has raised money for enhancements along the hike-and-bike trails, art portal gateways to San Antonio's historic missions, neighborhood parks and overlooks, public art, and lighted bridges. The organization completed Confluence Park, a $13,000,000 environmental education facility in FY2018. The park is located immediately south of downtown San Antonio and was deeded to the San Antonio River Authority within FY2018. The foundation continues to manage Confluence Park and develops programming outreach for the park to serve our community and region.
