Friends Peace Teams is a Spirit-led organization working aorund the world to develop long-term relationships with communities in conflict to create programs for peace building, healing, and reconciliation based on extensive Quaker experience.

About

AGLI is still doing peace work in Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and in Democratic Republic of Congo. In Rwanda, an increasing number of children visit the Children's Peace Libraries from surorunding schools and shows the effort that the staffs have put into promoting reading culture among Rwandan children. Healing and Rebuilding Our Communities (HROC) center hosts International trainings with participants from USA, DRC, Rwanda, Kenya, South Sudan and Nigeria. In Kenya, 24 women from South Sudan, DRC, Somalia and Burundi took part in AVP/HROC training held at Friends Church located in Kenya's Turkana region. In Burundi the FWA clinic does testing for HIV aids, trauma and counseling. DRC, AVP workshops are conducted for communities in North Kivu and South Kivu. HROC workshops are held for various people in the remote areas. IPB/HROC Burundi performed several HROC Workshops in schiools and with communities.
