FROM BUILDING A CHILDREN'S HOME TO PROVIDING EDUCATION, MEDICAL CARE, AND CLEAN WATER, THE ORGANIZATION HOPES TO MAKE A LASTING IMPACT FOR GENERATIONS TO COME. 41 THRIVING CHILDREN, 41,800 SCHOOL LUNCHES AS DESCRIBED BELOW, 480 SERVING HANDS AND OVER 1,000,000 SMILES. BRACE FOR IMPACT 46 INTEGRATED THE BREAKING BREAD INITIATIVE INTO THEIR EFFORTS IN HAITI IN 2018.IN HAITI, THE MAJORITY OF SUCCESS IN LOCAL SCHOOLS AND STUDENTS DEPENDS ON THE QUALITY OF THE FEEDING PROGRAM THE SCHOOLS PROVIDE. ACCORDING TO THE WORLD BANK, EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN HAITI HAVE AN 85% CHANCE OF FAILING IF THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING SOME TYPE OF FOOD PROGRAM TO THE CHILDREN. THE PARENTS LOOK FOR THE SCHOOL WITH THE BEST FEEDING PROGRAMS POSSIBLE. IT TAKES A HEAVY BURDEN AWAY FOR THEIR CHILDREN TO RECEIVE A HOT MEAL AT SCHOOL EVERY DAY. ACCORDING TO WORLD FOOD PROGRAM, MOST STUDENTS GET 60% OF THEIR DAILY CALORIES FROM SCHOOL. THE BREAKING BREAD PROGRAM PROVIDES A HOT NUTRITIOUS MEAL FOR 220 PEOPLE PER DAY. THIS INCLUDES 197 STUDENTS AT THE IDADEE SCHOOL AND 23 STAFF MEMBERS. THE COST OF THE FEEDING PROGRAM IS $1.00 PER DAY PER PERSON. THE FOOD FOR THE MEALS WILL BE BOUGHT IN COUNTRY TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL ECONOMY. MEALS WILL BE HIGH QUALITY WITH A HIGH AMOUNT ON PROTEIN IN EACH MEAL.
