THE NEWTON YMCA IS A CHARITABLE COMMUNITY SERVICE ORGANIZATION THAT INCLUDES MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES, ABILITIES, INCOMES, RACES AND RELIGIONS. WE ARE DEDICATED TO BUILDING STRONG KIDS, STRONG FAMILIES AND STRONG COMMUNITIES THROUGH OUR MISSION OF PUTTING CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES INTO PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT BUILD A HEALTHY SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY FOR ALL. SERVICES ARE OFFERED AT AFFORDABLE FEES FOR THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE, WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE FULL FEE. OUR YMCA IS FOUNDED AND LED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM OUR COMMUNITY. VOLUNTEERS ALSO SERVE AS MENTORS, COACHES, PROGRAM LEADERS, INSTRUCTORS, FUND RAISERS AND MORE.

CHILD CARE PROGRAMS: WE PROVIDE YEAR ROUND, FULLY STATE LICENSED DAY CARE FOR CHILDREN 6 WEEKS TO 5 YEARS OF AGE, BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND A SUMMER PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN 5 YEARS TO 12 YEARS OF AGE. OUR DEVELOPMENTALLY-BASED CURRICULUM IS BIAS-FREE AND FOCUSES ON DEVELOPING THE WHOLE CHILD BY PROVIDING ACTIVITIES TO HELP MEET ALL NEEDS. WE ENCOURAGE EXPLORATION AND GROWTH IN A WELL-EQUIPPED ENVIRONMENT THAT IS STIMULATING, SAFE, CONSISTENT AND NURTURING AND STRIVES TO DEVELOP HABITS OF OBSERVATION, QUESTIONING AND LISTENING AND BUILDING AN AWARENESS OF THE CHILD'S OWN FEELINGS AS WELL AS OTHERS AROUND THEM. WE ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO HAVE AN OPEN MIND THAT PREPARES THEM TO UTILIZES THEIR INTELLECTUAL AND CREATIVE ABILITIES FOR NOW AND LATER IN LIFE.
