The Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Foundation has no paid staff. The board of directors are all volunteers and leverage community relationships and businesses to assist in both our fundraising activities and the creation of individual scholarships for our graduating seniors. The board leads two or three fundraisers each year, a May Day 5K, Gala Fundraising Dinner & Silent Auction, and a Golf Tournament. All the funds generated by these events pay for the operating costs of the Foundation, as well as the annual Inver Grove Heights B.E.S.T. Foundation Academic Scholarships. In addition to the scholarships provided by the annual fundraisers, individual scholarships are funded by local and national businesses, memorials, and family donations. In 1988, the first year scholarships were awarded through the Foundation, $2,000 was awarded. In May 2019, 105 scholarships totaling over $149,000 were awarded.
