THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY FOUNDATION GRANTED 25,205 TO THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY CLUB IN SUPPORT OF ITS WORK AND SUPPORT OF LOCAL, REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS. SOME OF THOSE PROGRAMS ARE DESCRIBED BELOW. ROTARY YOUTH LEADERSHIP CAMP - DELIVERS PRACTICAL, HANDS-ON LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH. DURING THIS FIVE DAY CAMP EXPERIENCE, THE YOUTH ARE CHALLENGED TO MOVE OUTSIDE THEIR COMFORT ZONE AND CLICHS. THEY LEARN HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS, HOW TO ANALYSIS DATA AND ITS IMPORTANCE AND HOW TO LEAD FROM A SUPPORTIVE ROLE. THIS CAMP EXPERIENCE HAS LASTING INFLUENCE IN THE LIVES OF PARTICIPATING YOUTH. DICTIONARY PROGRAM - THE ROTARY CLUB DONATED DICTIONARIES TO EVERY THIRD GRADE STUDENT IN THE SAINT PAUL PUBLIC SCHOOLS. ROTATION FORWARD - JUNIOR HIGH AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE NOMINATED BY SCHOOL COUNSELORS TO RECEIVE THIS AWARD BY VIRTUE OF THEIR SPECIAL EFFORT OR ACCOMPLISHMENT, NOT NECESSARILY WITHIN THE CLASSROOM OR BY ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE - EXPOSURE TO DIFFERENT CULTURES RANKS AS ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL WAYS TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING AND PEACE. THE SAINT PAUL ROTARY CLUB PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR ONE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET PEOPLE FROM SAINT PAUL AND TO EXPERIENCE MINNESOTA CULTURE, PLANTING THE SEEDS FOR A LIFETIME OF INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING.
