We protect and promote the basic needs of people in poverty through the power of legal volunteers. We envision a society in which everyone has equal access to the legal services essential for stability and well-being. VLN goes beyond the direct provision of services to assess community need, identify community resources and, through strategic partnerships and public policy advocacy, craft programs as solutions to help meet the most pressing legal needs of people in poverty living in Minnesota.

Volunteer Lawyers Network (VLN) leverages the talent and personal dedication of hundreds of volunteers through a volunteer-based service delivery model. In 2018, volunteers from over 300 law firms and companies delivered over 9,000 legal services to low-income and disadvantaged Minnesotans. With the support of VLN's staff our volunteers: prevent homelessness and protect safe and stable housing; protect family relationships; help abused or abandoned children; protect and stabilize scarce financial resources, and provide access to the justice system regardless of the client's ability to pay.
