About
In 2018, Step, Inc. has provided support, training and employment services to about 90 individuals with disabilities at our 4 service locations and in community locations throughout our 2 counties of Faribault and Martin counties. Throughout this year, Step has worked to develop newer, more individualized employment services, including moving individuals into competitive, integrated employment settings. In late 2018, Step also began developing these services in Watonwan county. Step has worked with over 30 local employers to provide a variety of work options for adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. Besides a variety of seated work at our offices, work opportunities have also included housekeeping at local hotels, assisting with meal set up at a local long term care center, breakfast host work at a local hotel and course and facility maintenance at local golf courses. In addition to work, Step staff provided individuals with the opportunity to utilize their communities for other aspects of daily life and to participate in leisure and recreational time in the community and at our locations.
