About this organization
Mission
Protecting and improving habitat for birds and other wildlife through land acquisition and management, education and advocacy.
About
Wildlife sanctuaries: Staff and volunteers performed habitat management and restoration of 1500+ acres of land at Faville Grove (FGS) and Goose Pond Sanctuaries (GPS) including plantings, invasive species control, native seed collection, prescribed burns, and bird/wildlife surveys. With our supporters, MAS celebrated the 50th anniversary of the first land purchase at GPS. MAS supported research and conducted many volunteer-led citizen science projects including monarch butterfly tagging, kestrel nest box monitoring, and more. Thousands of visitors enjoyed our sanctuaries for events or to simply enjoy nature. MAS met the highest national standards for excellence and land conservation permanence that resulted in awarding of national land trust accreditation, a mark of distinction in land conservation.
