HURON VALLEY AMBULANCE DEVOTES SUBSTANTIAL EFFORTS AND RESOURCES TO PROVIDING QUALITY PRE-HOSPITAL CARE AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE IN ITS COMMUNITIES. UNREIMBURSED SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE ELDERLY AND THE POOR THE COMPANY PROVIDES A SUBSTANTIAL PORTION OF ITS SERVICES TO THE ELDERLY AND POOR. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2017 APPROXIMATELY 52% OF THE TRANSPORTS PROVIDED BY THE COMPANY WERE TO ELDERLY PATIENTS UNDER THE MEDICARE PROGRAM, AND APPROXIMATELY 18% OF THE TRANSPORTS WERE PROVIDED TO PATIENTS WHO WERE DEEMED INDIGENT UNDER STATE, COUNTY, OR MEDICAID CENTER GUIDELINES. THE ESTIMATED UNREIMBURSED COST OF SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE ELDERLY,UNINSURED, AND THE UNDERINSURED TOTALED 4,341,289. THE COMPANY PROVIDED CHARITY CARE OF AN ADDITIONAL 831,641. PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICES THE COMPANY SERVES FIVE COUNTIES WITH A MEDICAL STAFF OF MORE THAN 365 EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND PARAMEDICS WITH A TOTAL OF 103 AMBULANCES.
