Mission
Riverview Center is a non-profit agency committed to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals affected by sexual violence in Iowa and for individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence in Illinois. All of our services are free, confidential, and age-appropriate. Since our inception, Riverview Center's primary concern has been to create a safe environment for survivors of violence. By providing choices, we empower survivors to decide how we can best serve their needs on their road to healing. To meet these diverse needs, Riverview Center provides a 24-hour hotline, medical/legal/other advocacy, counseling, arrangements for emergency shelter, and violence prevention education programming for tens of thousands of schoolchildren throughout our 16 service area.

Riverview Center provided 1,224 individuals with 14,346.50 hours of sexual assault therapy and advocacy services in 14 counties in Iowa and 2 counties in Illinois. There were a total of 2,408 crisis and information/referral calls/contacts from survivors and the community. Community awareness events/ programs/ initiatives were provided for over 130,876 community members.Riverview Center is unique in that it is the only agency in the 14 county Northeast Region of Iowa providing sexual assault services. Unlike other mental health agencies, all of the services are provided absolutely free of charge without regard to sex, race, and socioeconomic status. (Continued on Schedule O) Riverview Center promoted, encouraged, and facilitated the reduction of incidences and effects of sexual assault through victim support services. Illinois Sexual Assault Program: - 91 Individuals (40 children & 51 adults) received 1,126.5 hours of advocacy and counseling services - Crisis and Information/Referral Support provided during 11 calls/contacts and 697 I/R contacts - Institutional Advocacy: 1,591 meetings with 3,406 allied professionals - Professional Trainings: 82 trainings for 398 community professionals - Educational Programming: 749 programs for 12,445 community members - Community Awareness/Outreach/Social Justice: 352 initiatives for 80,451 community members Iowa Sexual Assault Program: - 830 Individuals (244 children & 586 adults) received 13,220 hours of advocacy and counseling services, including support during 325 hospital calls - Crisis and Information/Referral Support provided during 946 in-person/telephone contacts - Institutional Advocacy: 594 meetings with 3,873 allied professionals - Professional Trainings: 122 trainings for 1,844 community professionals - Educational Programming/Community Awareness/Outreach/Social Justice: 603 programs for 28,024 community members
