About this organization
Mission
Through the help of our program partners and supporters, Bridge Communities provides free transitional housing to 125+ homeless DuPage County families each year. During the two years each family spends in our program, they are able to save money, learn budgeting skills, and obtain better employment, so they can live self-sufficiently once they graduate. Mission: The mission of Bridge Communities is to transition homeless families to self-sufficiency by working with partners to provide mentoring, housing, and supportive services.
About
In 2019, Bridge Communities served 137 families, including 148 adults and their 262 children. Bridge continued to expand the breadth and quality of its service offerings to families and the over 300 volunteer mentors who support them, focusing on nutrition, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and career and educational counseling for both adults and teen children. Notably, Bridge completed surveys of over 150 families who had benefited from the program over the 31 years since its founding, and gained rich insights to inform continuous quality improvement initiatives.
