LAKELAND YOUTH CENTER IS DEDICATED TO SERVING THE YOUTH IN THEIR COMMUNITY IN EDUCATION THROUGH THE PRESCHOOL AND KEEPING THE KIDS IN THE COMMUNITY ACTIVE BY OFFERING VARIOUS SPORTING EVENTS FOR THEM TO PARTICIPATE.

LYC PROVIDES SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN THREE MAIN CATEGORIES; PRESCHOOL, SPORTS, AND RECREATIONAL. LYC OFFERS A PRESCHOOL DEDICATED TO GETTING CHILDREN AGES 3 AND 4 PREPARED FOR KINDERGARTEN BOTH SOCIALLY AND ACADEMICALLY. THE CURRICULUM WAS CREATED BY WORKING WITH KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS IN ORDER TO GIVE THE STUDENTS ATTENDING THE PRESCHOOL A STRONG FOUNDATION OF WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW WHEN BEGINNING KINDERGARTEN THE FOLLOWING YEAR. THE SPORTS PROGRAM AT LYC OFFERS MULTIPLE SPORTS OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE KIDS IN THE COMMUNITY ALL YEAR ROUND. THEY ALSO OFFER A WARRIOR ACADEMY WHICH TEACH THE ATHLETES THE PROPER WAY TO STRETCH BEFORE AND AFTER A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AS WELL AS THE PROPER WAY TO PLAY VARIOUS SPORTING ACTIVITIES. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL CAMPS OFFERED OVER THE SUMMER FOR KIDS TO PARTICIPATE IN WHILE SCHOOL IS CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER. LYC HAS A WONDERFUL ACTIVITIES PROGRAM THAT OFFERS MANY FREE AND DISCOUNTED FAMILY ORIENTED PROGRAMS IN AN EFFORT FOR FAMILIES TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE AND PLAY TOGETHER. SOME ACTIVITIES INCLUDE FAMILIES USING TEAMWORK TO COMPLETE A RACE, WHILE OTHERS ARE EVENTS SUCH AS CARNIVALS THAT ALL FAMILIES TO COME HAVE FUN AND ENJOY EACH OTHER'S COMPANY.
