THE VISION OF DRESS FOR SUCCESS CLEVELAND IS A WORLD WHERE WOMEN DO NOT LIVE IN POVERTY, ARE TREATED WITH DIGNITY AND RESPECT, ARE STRENGTHENING THEIR FAMILIES AND SHAPING THEIR COMMUNITIES.

IN 2018, 2 COHORTS OF 10-WEEK JOB READINESS CLASSES WERE PROVIDED RESULTING IN 23 WOMEN BEING ENROLLED, 16 SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE PROGRAM AND 13 WHO TRANSITIONED INTO THE WORKFORCE.THE CONTINUUM OF SUPPORTING SERVICES INCLUDED CONTINUED PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF EMPLOYED WOMEN BASED ON 5 PILLARS: CAREER ADVANCEMENT STRATEGIES, HEALTH & WELLNESS, LEADERSHIP & CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES, FINANCIAL PLANNING AND WORK-LIFE BALANCE AND 49 WOMEN WERE SUPPORTED VIA THIS ASPECT OF PROGRAMMING. OF THE 49 WOMEN IN OUR JOB RETENTION PROGRAM, 81% (39) RETAINED EMPLOYMENT CONTINUOUSLY; 6% (3) RECEIVED PROMOTIONS, 10 WERE LAID OFF WITH 4 WERE REHIRED WITHIN 6 MONTHS, 3 WERE REHIRED WITHIN A YEAR AND THE REMAINING 3 WERE ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN OUR CAREER CENTER TO SEARCH FOR EMPLOYMENT.IN 2018, THE AVERAGE HOURLY WAGE AMONG WOMEN WE SERVE WAS $11.54 AND 66% ARE SINGLE HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD WITH 3 CHILDREN; 8 OR 1% WERE VETERANS; 252 OR 37% HAD SOME COLLEGE ; 125 OR 18% HAD GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE AND 6 OR 1% HAVING ATTAINED MASTER OR PHD DEGREES.
