Often, as firefighters respond to calls for help, we observe situations where people need a helping hand or something that will improve their quality of life. To reduce the threats posed by fire, earthquake, and other disasters, natural and manmade, including teaching communities to be more resilient and prepared. We teach people how to be safe in their homes. We teach people CPR and teach firefighters how to survive wildfires.

The mission of the Woodside-Portola Valley Fire Protection Foundation, Inc. (referred to as the fire foundation) is to augment the Woodside Fire Protection District (WFPD) budget for up-to-date equipment, facilities, fire prevention and training. The fire foundation will enable WFPD to provide the most advanced and efficient form of all-risk emergency responsive services. Specifically, the fire foundation has three goals:1) Provide for state of the art emergency response during fire, rescue, emergency medical incidents and natural disasters.2) Provide for capital improvements to facilities and emergency response equipment and apparatus.3) Provide for the enhancement of safety, fire prevention, disaster awareness and education.

Cal Fire Benevolent Foundation

Mission

This public benefit corporation is organized exclusively to engage in lawful charitable and educational activities supporting the families of firefighters and other firefighting suppression personnel in times of financial need or hardship: assist burn victims and their families and support research and studies on occupation hazards and exposures unique to firefighting within the meaning of IRC section 501(c)(3) or the corresponding provision of any future United States internal revenue law.

Priceless Pet Rescue is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to stopping the killing of adoptable dogs and cats. Priceless Pets is leading the no-kill movement by energizing the public and maintaining comprehensive, innovative, life-saving programs designed to save the animals most likely to be euthanized in shelters. In 2007, Priceless Pets embarked on the mission of saving one by one until there are none. Starting as a foster based rescue, Priceless Pets has grown over the years and now operates out of two storefront adoption centers known as “The Orphanage."
