Operation SafeHouse, with community support, provides emergency shelter, intervention and outreach services to runaway, homeless and other youth in crisis. SafeHouse offers youth positive alternatives to becoming victims of the streets.

Emergency SheltersLocated in Riverside and Thousand Palms, these facilities accept males and females, ages 12 - 17, every hour of every day of the year. They are the only shelters in Riverside County providing twenty-four hour a day services to runaway, throwaway and homeless youth. Immediate interventions include three weeks of emergency shelter, food, clothing, daily counseling, family reunification when possible, and ongoing grade level education. The daily counseling services, as well as family sessions assist the teens and their families in addressing individual and family issues in a positive way that is helpful for all family members. A 24-hour toll free crisis line is also available for youth in crisis.Supportive Housing and Transitional Housing ProgramsLocated in Riverside (Main Street) and Thousand Palms (Harrison House), these apartment settings provide on-going services for up to eighteen months for older youth ages 18 - 24 who are aging out of foster care or who are homeless. Services include life skills, financial education, employment assistance, continuing education, and mental health counseling. The program goal is to move the youth from homelessness to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.
