The mission statement of The First Tee of Greater Tyler is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. For 2018, this was accomplished through a series of 7-week programs. The Spring program was attended by 119 participants; the Summer program was attended by 161 participants and the Fall program was attended by 120 participants. In addition, the organization was involved in the National School Program in which 18 elementary schools from the Tyler, Palestine, Bullard and Whitehouse Independant School Districts and 8,500 students participated.
