About this organization
Mission
Our mission is to promote the general welfare and to enhance the quality of life for older adults by identifying, developing and providing sensitive nutritious meals and related activities.
About
Home-Delivered Meals:The Home-Delivered Meals program (HDM) serves frail and homebound seniors not only with noon meals but also provides social contact, gate keeping services, nutritional information and community links to other resources. Contact with a home-delivered meals driver also reduces the isolation experienced by many seniors who live alone. As the number of frail, homebound seniors increases, combined with their growing preferences to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, the need for home delivered meals becomes greater each year. Congregate Meals (or All Seasons Cafes):The Congregate Meals program serves mobile seniors with noon meals. This program reduces isolation and loneliness by encouraging seniors to get out of their home to visit friends and make new friends, encourages seniors to participate in other activities offered at the cafe, and promotes a sense of value and self-worth to the senior volunteers that provide service through the program. During fiscal year 2017-18, MoW served 5,159 unduplicated seniors and delivered 510,659 meals to congregate and home-delivered meal participants. MoW also relied on the support of over 700 volunteers who contributed over 52,700 hours.
