THROUGHOUT 2018, USGBC-MISSOURI GATEWAY CHAPTER CONTINUED TO ASSIST IN CREATING GREEN AND HEALTHY SPACES TO LIVE, WORK, AND LEARN BY PROVIDING ROBUST OUTREACH AND EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: 1. WE ARE PROVIDED YEAR-LONG OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT GREEN BUILDING TO CONNECT AND LEARN BY HOLDING 22 UNIQUE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS THAT REACHED 1,461 INDIVIDUALS. 2. COORDINATED THE FIFTH ANNUAL GREEN SCHOOLS QUEST WITH A RECORD NUMBER OF 57 SCHOOLS-MENTOR TEAMS IMPLEMENTING NO OR LOW COST SUSTAINABILITY PROJECTS. OVER 5,000 STUDENTS AND FACULTY PARTICIPATED IN PROJECTS AND REPORTED REACHING AN ADDITIONAL 30,000 INDIVIDUALS THROUGH THEIR PROJECTS. 3. BECAME THE HOST OF THE ST. LOUIS COLLABORATIVE OF THE INTERNATIONAL LIVING FUTURES INSTITUTE (ILFI), WHICH IS THE PARENT OF THE LIVING BUILDING CHALLENGE, THE DECLARE PRODUCT LABEL, JUST ORGANIZATIONS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT A GREENER FUTURE. 4. BETTER BUILDINGS THROUGH BENCHMARKING IS THE NEW BRANDING OF OUR VOLUNTARY ENERGY BENCHMARKING CAMPAIGN, NOW WITH 85+ ORGANIZATIONS PARTICIPATING. OUR BENCHMARKING INTERN WORKED WITH SEVERAL LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES AND NON-PROFITS TO HELP BENCHMARK THEIR BUILDINGS SO THEY CAN SAVE MONEY AND ENERGY. 5. PROVIDED 22 BENCHMARKING EDUCATION AND HELP SESSIONS ATTENDED BY 200 INDIVIDUALS AS PART OF OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS. WE ALSO CO-HOSTED A GREEN PROFESSIONAL BUILDING SKILL (GPRO) "TRAIN THE TRAINER" SESSION WITH THE CITY WHERE ALL 11 ATTENDEES WERE APPROVED TO BE GRPO OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTORS.
