Mission

Educate and mentor Lebanese and Lebanese-American professionals and students in the field of High-Tech.

About

Our primary purpose is to educate Lebanese and Lebanese-American professionals, students and start-up companies in the high-tech field through networking, meetings, round-tables, training sessions, mentoring activities and other educational events. In 2018 we conducted 14 events in total, including fireside chats, panels and conferences, with a total attendance of 610 tech professionals; we kicked off an Internship pilot program and sourced seven job opportunities for Summer 2019; we conducted a workshop in Lebanon (Nov. 2018) with local venture capitalists and investors to assess gaps and challenges hindering Lebanese startups from succeeding on a global stage; we conducted a post mortem session with all previous LebNet Ignite sessions graduates (startup founders) to assess the pros/cons of our program and gather areas for improvements as well as next phase program ideas; we reinforced community engagement in 7 US cities by engaging volunteers to be leaders and create steering committees to work on local impact; we created a biotech community focused on special needs of LebNet stakeholders in that industry. Our membership grew by 200 to over 800 members. To strengthen our position as the de-facto Lebanese-American high-tech diaspora group, we negotiated a merger with the Lebanese Canadian Tech Hub (a similar organization to LebNet operating in Canada); the merger was announced in January 2019. It enabled us to grow our membership to over 1,000 members. We hired a communications specialist contractor who revamped our social media messaging to reach out to more beneficiaries around North America.
