ONGOING PROJECTS THROUGH THE YEAR INCLUDE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PIER 5 UPLANDS, WHICH WILL ADD 145,000 SQUARE FEET OF NEW PARKLAND, INCLUDING SLOPING AND TERRACED LAWNS, A GROVE WITH A FLEXIBLE SEATING AREA, AND A SOUND ATTENUATING BERM TO REDUCE TRAFFIC NOISE; CONSTRUCTION OF PIER 3 WHICH WILL ADD 3 ACRES OF GREEN SPACE TO THE PARK INCLUDING A CENTRAL LAWN, A FLEXIBLE HARDSCAPE AREA FOR RECREATION AND PROGRAMMING, AND AN EXPLORATORY LABYRINTH FEATURING HISTORIC ELEMENTS SALVAGED FROM THE PARK; AND CONSTRUCTION OF BBP'S BOATHOUSE AND NEW MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS FACILITY SCHEDULED TO BE OPEN IN 2018.
