FIT4KIDS PRIMARY DIRECT PROGRAMS ARE WELLNESS INTEGRATION, LEARNING GARDENS, GAME ON, GIRL!, SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOLS (SRTS), AND A COALITION.FIT4KIDS WELLNESS INTEGRATION PROGRAM INFUSES SCHOOLS WITH A CULTURE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND NUTRITION AND SERVED ROUGHLY 6,750 STUDENTS AT ELEVEN SCHOOLS DURING FY19.FIT4KIDS LEARNING GARDENS ENGAGE CHILDREN IN PLANTING, GROWING,HARVESTING, AND BEST OF ALL, TASTING FRESH, FLAVORFUL FOOD,CHANGING THE WAY CHILDREN FEEL ABOUT VEGETABLES. DURING FY19, MORE THAN 4,000 STUDENTS AT 19 SCHOOLS BENEFITED FROM LESSONS IN A FIT4KIDS LEARNING GARDEN.GAME ON, GIRL! EMPOWERS MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TO BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE, NUTRITIONALLY FIT, AND LEADERS IN THEIR COMMUNITY. THE PROGRAM REACHED 185 GIRLS.THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND RESOURCES TO SEVEN RICHMOND SCHOOLS ENCOURAGING STUDENTS TO WALK AND BIKE SAFELY TO AND FROM SCHOOL.FIT4KIDS ALSO CONVENES THE GREATER RICHMOND COALITION FOR HEALTHY CHILDREN, A REGIONAL COALITION WORKING TO ADVANCE PROGRAMS AND POLICIES TO PREVENT CHILDHOOD OBESITY.
