About
The Alliance of Hope was created by survivors, for survivors. Our website contains information to help survivors understand the complex emotional aftermath of suicide. It also features a blog, bookstore, and memorials. Our community forum operates like a 24/7 support group. It hosts over 25,000 members from around the world, and 600,000 posts describing the survivor experience. It is overseen by a mental health counselor and trained team of survivor moderators who provide information and hope. Many members call it their “lifeline”. We also offer provide distance consultations by trained trauma and loss professionals – for new survivors who cannot find local support. The Alliance of Hope is also working to develop resources for specific populations. We have piloted 8-week online programs for grieving fathers and grieving widows and will be working on additional programs for mothers and siblings. Each program is led by a trained, experienced facilitator. Personal attention is our specialty. We respond to hundreds of calls and email requests for information and support from survivors, first responders, clinicians, students, media, and the general public. We offer these services for the long-term – helping survivors move through every step of the healing journey toward living a meaningful, productive life again. We are rated a “Top Health Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits.
