Outside the Lens (OTL) empowers youth to use photography, filmmaking, and digital media to create change within themselves, their community and the world. OTL is dedicated to a future where all youth will have the access to and education necessary to understand, evaluate and, most importantly, create media. Through photography, filmmaking and other digital media, youth become engaged learners, and active participants in the classroom, the community and ultimately, the world. We believe it is essential for youth to possess digital media skills in order to express themselves creatively, engage in issues that are important to them and discuss their ideasfor social change. Digital media is the new language of learning and is a fundamental skill needed for achieving success in the 21st Century.
