About this organization
Mission
Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders’ mission is to assist the most needy in rebuilding their homes and lives after a major disaster. Organized after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi in 2005, we’ve helped more than 350 families return to their home. We help those without the wherewithal to do it themselves—uninsured and low-income with priority given to elderly, disabled/handicapped, and single-parent/large family households. Using volunteer teams and donated funds, we’re able to rebuild homes for significantly less than the commercial rate.
About
Closed the Denham Springs, LA, operation in December 2018 after completing 6 homes including one new construction home in the second half of 2018. In addition, several smaller projects were completed. Continued our response to the devastation created by Hurricane Harvey, we continued restoring 19 flooded homes in the Galveston/Houston region including one new construction home. Over 800 volunteers supported our construction efforts. Responding the devastation created by Hurricane Florence in eastern North Carolina, we began mucking out homes in October 2018 in preparation for beginning a rebuilding operation in January 2019. Since beginning rebuilding in January 2019, we've rebuilt 14 homes with the support of over 800 volunteers.
