OBJECTIVES:TAYBA FOUNDATION IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SERVING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY INCARCERATION. WE BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF HUMAN CHANGE THROUGH HOLISTIC EDUCATION, GUIDANCE, AND SUPPORT. OUR WORK IS ORGANIORGANIZED INTO THREE INTERRELATED PROGRAM AREAS: EDUCATION, LIFE SKILLS, AND RE-ENTRY.ACHIEVEMENTS DURING THE YEAR 2018:?INCREASED OUR PRESENCE INTO OVER 290 STATE AND FEDERAL PRISONS ACROSS 42 STATES?INCREASED OUR CAPACITY TO SERVE 1000 STUDENTS PER TERM FROM 800 STUDENTS.?ADDED 1126 UNIQUE STUDENTS FROM PRISONS ACROSS AMERICA BRINGING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF UNIQUE STUDENTS SERVED TO DATE TO 3126.?INCREASED OUR STAFF AND FACULTY AND THUS REMOVED THE NEED FOR A WAITLIST AND NOW CAN RESPOND TO AND SERVE EVERY APPLICATION REQUEST & ANSWER EVERY LETTER THAT COMES TO THE OFFICE. ?AFTER EXTENSIVE REVIEW OF FORENSIC PEER MENTORING PROGRAMS, WE HAD OUR PEER COACHES BEGIN TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS TO ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS AND ABILITIES TO ADVISE AND MENTOR CURRENTLY AND FORMERLY INCARCERATED MEN AND WOMEN. ?AFTER EXTENSIVE REVIEW OF AVAILABLE LIFE SKILLS COURSES, WE BEGAN OFFERING VARIOUS COURSES TO OUR STUDENT BODY. ?AFTER REVIEW OF MULTIPLE SOLUTIONS, WE BEGAN USING A RE-ENTRY SOFTWARE SYSTEM TO TRACK THE PROGRESS OUR CLIENTS WHO PARTICIPATE IN OUR RE-ENTRY PROGRAM. ?COLLABORATED WITH AN ORGANIZATION IN DETROIT TO MANAGE THEIR REENTRY TRANSITIONAL HOUSING.
