About this organization
Mission
Our mission is to save lives and provide support to those affected by lung cancer through research, awareness, education and access programs across North Carolina. Our vision is to improve life for everyone affected by lung cancer.
About
We are committed to increasing public awareness about lung cancer. Through our events, outreach initiatives, and grassroots opportunities, we work to let everyone affected by lung cancer know that there is hope. Over 2,500 individuals participated in events during the year including three 5k run/walks, one gala and two golf tournaments. We funded lung cancer research through our fellows program, through a career development research grant and through an innovation in lung cancer research grant. We educated physicians through programs like our updates after ASCO series and reached community members across the state through the Power Up community education series. Our access to care programs include distribution of gas cards for lung cancer patients to support access to appropriate care and treatment and access grants to community organizations in support of accessing screening, treatment, clinical research, comprehensive biomarker testing and education.
