Circle of Care for Families of Children with Cancer is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization that supports children with cancer and their families during treatment. Our mission is to provide practical, emotional and financial assistance to Connecticut families of children in treatment for cancer through programs and services that meet the unique and challenging needs of pediatric cancer treatment.   Until no parent has to hear the words"your child has cancer," we''ll be here no matter where the journey leads.

CIRCLE OF CARE OFFERS A UNIQUE CONTINUUM OF PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT THE NON-MEDICAL NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH CANCER. OUR SIGNATURE PROGRAM, "BAGS OF LOVE," PROVIDES IMMEDIATE SUPPORT TO NEWLY DIAGNOSED FAMILIES. WHEN A FAMILY ARRIVES IN THE HOSPITAL, THEY RECEIVE A "BAG OF LOVE"--A CANVAS BAG FILLED WITH THOUGHTFULLY SELECTED EVERYDAY ESSSENTIALS AND COMFORT ITEMS TO EASE THAT BURDEN THAT COMES WITH THE IMMEDIATE HOSPITALIZATION OF A CHILD. THE BAGS ALSO INCLUDE CIRCLE OF CARE'S RESOURCE GUIDE, "THE PURPLE PAGES," WHICH FAMILIES CAN REFERENCE TO FIND ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS THAT ARISE FFROM THE TREATMENT PROCESS. CIRCLE OF CARE ALSO PROVIDES IN-PATIENT SUPPORT THROUGH OUR "LIFELINE" PROGRAM. "LIFELINE" IS A SUPPORT NETWORK THAT CONNECTS SURVIVOR FAMILIES WITH NEWLY DIAGNOSED FAMILIES. IN ADDITION, CIRCLE OF CARE PROVIDES TRAINED VOLUNTEERS WHO SPEND TIME ENTERTAINING THE CHILDREN DURING THE LONG HOURS OF TREATMENT AND OFFER RESPITE TO THE CAREGIVERS AND SIBLINGS IN THE HOSPITAL TREATMENT CENTER.
