PENNSYLVANIA PSYCHIATRIC INSTITUTE (PPI) IS A FREESTANDING HEALTHCARE FACILITY THAT SPECIALIZES IN PSYCHIATRIC AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT. IN-PATIENT CARE IS PROVIDED ON A 24-HOUR BASIS, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, IN AN 89 BED ACUTE CARE PSYCHIATRIC SETTING. DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT OCCURS WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF MILIEU AND GROUP MODALITIES OF TREATMENT. ELECTROCONVULSIVE THERAPY (ECT) SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FOR BOTH INPATIENTS AND OUTPATIENTS 5 DAYS A WEEK. OUTPATIENT, INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT AND PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED AT TWO OUTPATIENT CLINIC SITES. PPI'S ADVANCEMENT IN RECOVERY PROGRAM OFFERS A COMPREHENSIVE MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT PROGRAM FOR INDIVIDUALS STRUGGLING WITH OPIOID USE DISORDER.PPI IS COMMITTED TO THE PROVISION OF QUALITY BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR OUR COMMUNITY. OUR RESOURCES ARE UTILIZED TO MEET INDIVIDUAL PATIENT AND FAMILY GOALS IN THE MOST EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE MANNER POSSIBLE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH THE USE OF EVIDENCE-BASED CLINICAL PRACTICE AND BENCHMARKING THROUGHOUT THE INDUSTRY AS MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PSYCHIATRIC HEALTH SYSTEMS.OUR PATIENT CARE IS BUILT UPON THE RELATIONSHIP THAT OCCURS BETWEEN STAFF AND PATIENTS ALLOWING US TO FOCUS OUR RESOURCES AROUND THE PATIENT'S INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS AS THE BASIS OF CARE.WE PRACTICE HOLISTIC CARE BY MEETING THE NEEDS OF OUR WHOLE PATIENT. WE BELIEVE IT IS THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE PATIENTS, FAMILIES, AND US AS CARE PROVIDERS THAT CAN PRODUCE POSITIVE TREATMENT OUTCOMES. THE FOUNDATION OF OUR CARE CENTERS ON THIS RELATIONSHIP.PPI PROVIDES INDIVIDUALIZED CARE AS EVIDENCED BY THE WORK OF THE MULTIDISCIPLINARY TREATMENT TEAM. THE TEAM IS MADE UP OF A PHYSICIAN, REGISTERED NURSES, LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALISTS, ACTIVITY THERAPISTS, AND CARE COORDINATORS. THE MODALITIES OF CARE INCLUDE MILIEU, GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL THERAPIES. WE PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL GROUPS SUCH AS SKILL BUILDING GROUPS AND ACTIVITY GROUPS TO MEET THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.DURING THE FISCAL YEAR PPI HAD INPATIENT ADMISSIONS OF 2,067, PROVIDED ONGOING SUPPORT THROUGH THE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS, PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION PROGRAMS, AND SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER PROGRAMS OF THE ORGANIZATION. PPI PROVIDED $149,362 IN CHARITY CARE SERVICES AND SUPPORTED $85,326 OF ADDICTION SERVICES IN THE ADVANCEMENT IN RECOVERY PROGRAM THROUGH FEDERAL GRANT FUNDS AWARDED TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL OPIOD EPIDEMIC.
