Skill building assistance consists of activities that increase an individual's self-sufficiency and/or engagement in meaningful activities, such as school, work and volunteering. The activities may be provided in a center, community or home setting. The program provides education and specialized skill development. The main goal is for the participant to become ready for employment and to maintain that employment. Step served 1,610 individuals in their skill building program throughout the fiscal year. Due to COVID-19, we also added a virtual skill building component that served up to 100 individual consumers. Our clients report 95% satisfaction with the community based skill building activities.
